Prof. Jan Vanthienen is a full professor of information systems at KU Leuven (Belgium), Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management in the Research Center Information Systems (LIRIS).

His  research topics are: business rules, processes and decisions, business analysis and analytics (see his publications in Google Scholar here). He teaches courses in business analysis, business analytics and software design and Prof is the programme coordinator of the Master of business and information systems engineering.
Currently he is the head of the Department of Decision Sciences and Information Management.

Jan is also a member of Leuven.AI – KU Leuven Institute for Artificial Intelligence.
