Who We Are

Our North Star is to accelerate the worldwide adoption of effective Decision Automation. Today, Decision Automation relieves the operational decision-making of humans at scale through discovery practices, governance, deployment, and execution of software. This software typically comprises both logical statements written as rules and AI. Our organization and working committees help others understand what this technology is and what it can do for them. While we have a broad view of vendors and the global market, our focus is on promoting the DMN standard to expand adoption.

Challenges

Many in the Decision Automation community understand the acute problems holding back adoption. At the cutting edge, there is often little awareness of how to combine AI/ML and rules effectively. We believe that the industry lacks a common representation and approach to decision automation and modeling, which would clarify both the basics and advanced use of the technology.

Practitioners often disagree on practices and struggle to articulate the business value, making it difficult to connect the dots between business needs and implementation. Vendors typically emphasize tooling and technology prematurely, without spending enough time on discovery and modeling. Consequently, project risk factors may be confused due to insufficient time spent where needed. Additionally, while there is a desire for more collaboration on problem-solving, the competitive landscape prevents widespread learning from specific solutions.

Ultimately, we apply our learnings when we directly engage with the OMG DMN committee.
